   Walter O. Engleman, Jr., 19 of Rt. 1, Riesel, died Friday night at a local hospital. Walter was born Oct. 9, 1965 in Pasadena, Texas.
   Funeral Services: 10:00 a. m. Monday at Connally-Compton West Chapel with Rev. Raymond G. Dunkin officiating, burial in Waco Memorial Park.
   Survivors: parents, Mr. & Mrs. Walter O. Engleman of Riesel; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Thomas of Bellmead, and Miss Stephanie Engleman of Riesel. Grandparents L. O. and Fern Beal of Pasadena.

Evelyn Miller Wilkirson passed away this morning at 1:22 at a San Antonio
Hospital.  She was a grad of 1938 and children Sidney graduated in 1960 and Alta
Lois graduated in 1966.
Ruby Michalk Heintschel 
(December 26, 1922 - December 13, 2009) 
Ruby Michalk Heintschel, 86, our angel was called away this December 13, 2009. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 67 years, Louis Heintschel. Ruby led a life spent loving those around her. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved to make rosaries, her birds, fishing, traveling, and family. Her heart touched the lives of many. Her memories will fill the lives of those she touched. She is also survived by her daughter Diana Casper and husband John, sons Louis Heintschel, Jr. and wife Mary, Cliff Heintschel, Ronnie Heintschel and wife Molly, siblings Vastine Michalk and wife Elsie, Jesse Michalk and wife LaVerne, Beatrice Kominczak, Florence Hudler and husband Tony, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday December 18, 2009 at 6-8PM, with a rosary beginning at 7PM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of La Porte. Services will be held Saturday December 19, 2009 at 10AM at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church as well.
Annie G. Browning, 87, of La Grange passed away Monday October 5, 2009. She was born February 13, 1922 in Oklahoma. She attended La Porte High School and was a member of First Assembly of God. She is survived by daughters Jerry Ann Augsburger and husband Harper, Patricia Wall and husband Jerry, grandchildren Jody Augsburger and wife Jolynn, Tracy Enriquez and Juan, Randy Wall, and great grandchildren Devyn Enriquez, Garrett Augsburger, Meredith Augsburger. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 7, 2009 at 6PM-8PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday October 8, 2009 at the funeral home as well. Pauline Casteel's Brother, Marvin Owen Casteel, 75, of La Porte passed away Sunday May 3, 2009. He was born March 23, 1934 in La Porte, Texas to Roma and Luther Casteel. He is preceded in death by his wife Vera Mae Casteel. Marvin is survived by his daughter Roma E. Norwine, son Marty Casteel and wife Lynn, sisters Mary Elkins, Pauline Singleton and Leonard, and grandchildren Jade Casteel, Raven Casteel, and Courtney Wilson. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 5, 2009 at 6-8 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday May 6, 2009 at 1 PM at the funeral home with interment immediately following at La Porte Cemetery.
Carol Roberson West's husband James Orbrie West, 70, of Japton, Arkansas, died January 28, 2009 at his home. He was born April 13, 1938 at Nixon, Texas, the son of Franklin Lafayett "Pat" and Nancy Ida Ivy West. He was retired pipefitter and a member of the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lynn Robertson West on January 28, 2009. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Odell West and Olan West and by one great-granddaughter, Ashlee Emery.
Survivors include: three sons and daughter-in-laws, Barton and Leslie Morrison of Arlington, Virginia, Eric and Marlene Wilson of Boone, North Carolina and Jeff and Allison Wilson of Charleston, South Carolina; three daughters and one son-in-law, Velvis Lee Jowers and Vanessa Schyrl and Monty Lambeck, all of Stockdale, Texas and Judi Lynn Wilson of Nashville, Tennessee; five brothers, Ray West of Japton, Arkansas, Charles West of Devine, Texas, Owen West, Gary West and Buddy West, all of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Opal Adams of Clarksville, Texas and Joyce Hartgrove of Stockdale, Texas; six grandsons, Chase Stephen Dillard and Corbin Avery Dillard, both of Boone, North Carolina, Josh Cotter, Joe Cotter and Morgan Lambeck, all of Stockdale, Texas and Myron Lambeck of West Columbia, Texas; four granddaughters, Amanda Nichole Wilson of Vero Beach, Florida, Raylene Warner, Rochelle Lopez and Monica Lambeck, all of Stockdale, Texas and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 2, at the Drakes Creek Regular Baptist Church with Elders Jim Duncan and John Napier officiating. Interment will be in the Drakes Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Joyce Massey, our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 27, 2008. Born June 2, 1944 in Madisonville , Texas . She and her family moved to La Porte , Texas in 1970, where she lived the rest of her adult life. She is preceded in death by her parents Dixie and Carl Landon. She leaves to cherish her memory Alvin Massey, her husband of 24 years, twin sister Jean Downs and husband Alvin, sister Dottie Jo Hensen, and brother William Wendling, children William Nolin, Jr. and wife Joy, Anthony Nolin and wife Kelly, Dwayne Nolin and wife Sharon, Weldon Massey, Thomas Massey, Catherine Neal, Paul Massey, grandchildren Patrick, Keith, Kevin, Nathan, Zachary, Brock, and Presley Nolin, Tyler Gerfers, Mark Neal, Jason Massey, as well as many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Odyssey Hospice Care for their professionalism and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 29, 2008 at 6-9 PM at Paul U. Barbara Sue Hearn Weir, 64, of Deer Park passed away Monday August 25, 2008. She was born April 23, 1944 in Houston, Texas and was raised in Pasadena and Seabrook. In 1962 she graduated from Clear Creek High School. Barbara married Norris Weir in September 1964, and lived in Arlington, La Porte, Liberty, and Deer Park, Texas where she retired from Deer Park I.S.D in January 2004.

She is preceded in death by her mother Sunshine Elnora Coats Hearn, her father John Dudley Hearn, and her sister Martha Jean Hutchinson. She is survived by her husband Norris Weir, sons Norris Wayne Weir, Jr. and wife Tammy from La Porte, Scott Alan Weir and wife Donna from Plano, Derrick Ryan Weir and wife Alicia from La Porte, 4 grandchildren Mason Weir, Meagan Weir, Tyler Weir, Travis Weir, her brothers Bill Hearn and wife Mary of Galveston, and Johnny Hearn and wife Tamara from Bayview.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 28, 2008 at 7-9 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday August 29, 2008 at 10 AM at the funeral home as well. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Parkview Church of Christ since 1982. She will be missed by all who knew her sweetness and bright smile.
